Vlogging: contributing to a greater fashion and beauty democracy in the United States?

Fashion and beauty vlogging has become a popular source for consumers to receive information regarding new products or "how-to" advice. YouTube has made vlogging easy and available to anyone with access to the Internet, a computer, an email account and a digital recording device. This paper examines the top five fashion and beauty YouTube channels to find whether fashion and beauty vlogging is creating a greater democracy amongst aspiring U.S. vloggers, consumers, and small companies in the fashion and beauty world.
